Description of Patagonia Inter-Continental Hideaway Skirt - Women's:
Patagonia included built-in shorts when it designed the Women's Inter-Continental Hideaway Skirt, so you can take your skirt style to the trail without the drawbacks. The Hideaway Skirt's DWR-coated nylon-polyester blend dries quickly, repels light rain, and doesn't stain easily. Two hand pockets and a cargo pocket give you plenty of places to keep lip goo, car keys, and other small necessities. *This Patagonia skirt runs one size too big; we suggest ordering a size down from your normal Patagonia size.
Bottom Line: Skirt + shorts = the Patagonia Hideaway Skirt.
It is a very comfortable skirt and it does run a little large. I have to agree with another poster that it does wrinkle easily but its nice fit and comfort out weigh the wrinkles.
Think designer fit. This skirt is loose on me in a size 6 but is comfy and works. The size 4 fit better, but it did not sit as low on the hip and was too short for my tallish (5'7") frame. The Earthenware color is a nice dark taupe and looks great with black. Looked fine for a casual dinner after a day of activity. Washed and dried well.
I'm 5'3" on a good day and my waist is 28" (or 28.5") and my hips are 36". I bought the size 6, which according to the size chart should fit a waist of 27" and hips of 37.5". So, the size 6 should have been too small in the waist and too big in the hips for me. Nope; just the opposite. It fit nicely in the hips and was far too big in the waist. The rise in the shorts was rather short (think wedgie in the girl parts). Sooo, I'm sending it back. Great skirt otherwise - fabric, design, looks, pockets, quality.
