This merino wool top doesn't hold the stank like your old synthetic long underwear did. The versatile Wool 2 Zip-Neck keeps you comfortable when you backpack, cross country ski, rock climb, hike, or mountain bike in warm or cool weather. Wool regulates your body temperature by moving perspiration away from your skin and insulating you against either heat or cold. Patagonia used wool that hasn't been treated with environmentally harmful chlorine to make this soft zip-neck top. A tricot-taped zipper provides next-to-skin comfort. This shirt has a contoured fit for easy layering.

very warm yet very light, can be worn in almost any condition. Excellent as a stand alone base layer under a rain coat in cool, heavy rain. fits snug, sleeves are a little longer than normal. cuffs tend to stretch easily and do not return to tight fit. Like all Patagonia gear, it is overpriced. despite the ridiculous prices, Patagonia has by far the best baselayers (especially wool) of any brand (but lousy jackets and rain gear).

Very nice to have when skiing in not-too-cold weather. The zip allows to regulate the temperature very nicely.

Great materials, fits a long torso well. Zip front is generous. Good elemental component of a layering system. The wool weight used is great for 3 season wear. The only thing that would improve it would thumbholes.
