Description of Outdoor Research Trio Jacket - Men's: |
 |
Why bother with a quiver of jackets when you can have the versatility of the Outdoor Research Men’s Trio Jacket? This three-in-one jacket features a Pertex waterproof breathable shell with a zip-out insulated liner for a jacket option in any conditions. When it’s cold as ice and spitting sleet, wear both pieces together. For chilly but dry conditions, the EnduraLoft-insulated liner has you covered, and for soggy or humid days where you just need weather protection, zip up the waterproof Pertex shell. A zip-out powder skirt works with either the shell or the liner for further versatility.
Bottom Line: Turn one jacket into three. Crazy, right?

| A nice Pertex Jacket 05-16-09 |
Dale T. (30): |
| A very light weight water repellent jacket. A good value. Tends to run small so move up a size if you can.
Could use more pockets. Only two useable pockets in the shell.
Pertex is a light weight water repellent material that stretches when you move.
Find a sale and pick one up. Don't pay more than $110. |

| had higher expectations for a $280 jacket 06-09-09 |
Christopher B (0): |
| The jacket is decent, but not amazing. The inside jacket is extremely flimsy (and not very attractive--I don't think I would ever wear it by itself). It is a shiny material, stitched into squares, like a down jacket (but thin, and without the fill).
The shell, on the other hand, looks very nice. I have not worn it in a downpour yet, but even in a drizzle, some of the raindrops bead, and others soak in. I'm skeptical of the Pertex material.
The hood fits great, and detaches without taking away from the aesthetics of the jacket.
Perhaps it's worth $100, but certainly not $280. If you're just looking for a rain jacket, go with something else (I've had good experiences with Marmot) |
