This water-resistant shell gives you the protection you need to get the job done, without running up the bill for overkill. Oakley taped the Recon’s critical seams to keep you dry on slushy days and insulated the jacket with Thinsulate for some extra warmth on those cold morning trips to the peaks. Underarm zippered vents cool you down quickly after an impromptu rail jam, and the fixed powder skirt and wrist gaiters seal out snow.

| I don't know about your monitors, but on mine, the blazing green came up like a metallic seafoam. Anyway, the actual color is a rather bright limey green. It's grown on me. As for sizing, I'm 5'0" and got the XS. The jacket is not really cut for petite people, so the arms a little long for me, and I don't think that will change with a layer or two underneath. The liner/cuff extends and has thumb holes, so that's pretty cool. Hopefully it won't tear too easily.
I won't have a chance to test it out in winter conditions for a while, but I think I will hang on to this. |
