Description of Oakley Recon Jacket - Women's: |
 |
The Oakley Women’s Recon Jacket doesn’t overload you with features or weigh you down with too much insulation. This water-resistant shell gives you the protection you need to get the job done, without running up the bill for overkill. Oakley taped the Recon’s critical seams to keep you dry on slushy days and insulated the jacket with Thinsulate for some extra warmth on those cold morning trips to the peaks. Underarm zippered vents cool you down quickly after an impromptu rail jam, and the fixed powder skirt and wrist gaiters seal out snow.
Bottom Line: The Oakley Recon ain’t no puff piece.

| I don't know about your monitors, but on mine, the blazing green came up like a metallic seafoam. Anyway, the actual color is a rather bright limey green. It's grown on me. As for sizing, I'm 5'0" and got the XS. The jacket is not really cut for petite people, so the arms a little long for me, and I don't think that will change with a layer or two underneath. The liner/cuff extends and has thumb holes, so that's pretty cool. Hopefully it won't tear too easily.
I won't have a chance to test it out in winter conditions for a while, but I think I will hang on to this. |

| This is the the first piece of Oakley outerwear I've ever owned. I was skeptical Oakley at first, but this jacket was not a disappointment, especially for the price. I am usually a medium or large in most jackets and ordered this in large. The sleeves are nice and long, though I wish it was a little longer in the body, and there is plenty of room for layers. The insulation is warm and not too bulky, and it has lots of useful pockets. There are also magnets that hold the hood down to keep it from flopping, that was a nice touch. The green color is a nice bright apple green. |

| well, i tried 3 different jackets that i had to return because of size or features, but this is an amazing jacket for 85-. i haven't been disappointed once. i want to wear it all the time. its true to size, xs was perfect. its is so warm, that i am actually comfy while skiing and sitting on the lift, rare for me. all you need is a sweater/fleece and a light thermal shirt even on the coldest days. whipping northeast wind was not a problem. its long enough so you feel protected in your back n rear yet not so long that it restricts motion. i like the fleece on the collar too. the only drawbacks- the hood and skirt aren't removable. also the outer pockets could be a bit deeper but they are secured with Velcro, even if you don't zip them. the internal pocket is great. |
