Description of Nitro The Darkseid Snowboard Boot - Men's:
When the Nitro team riders lace it up for an epic day on the hill, they run the low profile Nitro Men's Darkseid Snowboard Boot with the comfy Tech 3 Thermacell liner and footbed. This top-of-the line boot features Nitro's twin lacing system to dial the fit of the upper and lower part of your boot to suit your riding style—less time fiddling with laces, more shreddage. The triple-density Tech 3 footbed gives you progressive padding to shield your feet from flat landings and riding vibrations, so you can ride all day in comfort. Power tongue stiffeners help your heel stay planted and get your boot flex just the way you demand. The Darkseid's clean, streamlined uppers give you a no-nonsense look that's not too flashy and not too plain, so they match nearly any kit.

Bottom Line: Being on the Darkseid never felt so good.

Nitro Darkseid Snowboard Boots   03-28-08

The boots are very comfortable with very good heel hold-down. I found the laces somewhat difficult to get into the locking cams (especially with cold hands). They may be some trick to it, but I haven't discovered it yet. There are two sets of laces for the outer boot (upper and lower) and one more set for the inner boot making a total of 6 cams to lock all of the laces. They also have a larger exterior footprint and are slightly heavier than Salomon F22 boots. The power strap at the top of the boot is excellent and the stiffness is easily adjusted. They fit as a true size. I would recommend these boots for comfort, heel hold, stiffness and lacing versatility and the power strap.

Stiff, but comfy   05-30-08

I've ridden many boots over the years and I was pleasantly surprised with these. The fit of the boot is great, so comfortable to me. I would consider my foot an average width but I do have a high arch which can sometimes be very uncomfortable in some boots. I'm normally a 10-10.5 in my boots/shoes and ended up in a 10 in these. I was surprised as usually when I start in a 10, my first 5-10 days on the snow can be miserable until they start to break in. These boots felt great my first day on the snow with them and haven't really broken in/packed out as much as other boots I've had. Would say that they've only packed out about a 1/4 size or so, so my foot isn't sliding around in them. They were a bit stiff to start out, but now that they have broken in the flex is great... I would say they were probably about an 8 of 10 to start and are probably about a 6.5 out 10 now. Don't over look these boots, as they are right up there in quality, fit and performance as the "big" companies boots.
