Description of Northwave Bike Revenge Cycling Shoe - Men's:
Wear the Northwave Men's Revenge Cycling Shoe when it's time to take out the guy that passed you twelve miles back. And we're talking take out. The Northwave Revenge's extremely rigid carbon sole maximizes pedaling efficiency and doesn't bend at all when you pull up next to him and kick his rear tire. A lightweight upper with Airflow ventilation keeps your foot breathing and moves quickly through the air when you get off your bike to roundhouse the fallen enemy in the face. Three closure straps secure your foot, customize the fit, and eliminate unnecessary, energy-losing foot movement when you get back on your bike to finish the race.
Bottom Line: Sure you got passed by 23 other jerks when you pulled over to beat that guy up, but the feeling that comes from kicking another guy's ass makes it all worth it.

Review:
All dealings with backcountry.com have been fantastic no problems here.
The Shoes: I have had these shoes for around 300km and I have been impressed. The fit I found better than my Sidi Dominators, they are wider at the ball of foot. The size I went for was a 43.5 compared to the Sidi 44.5.
I can see why the carbon sole plate scuffs up as per other reviews and have placed some stick on rubber grip tape on the toe soleplate to prevent this which has been successful and I can replace it when worn.
Not sure how old these models are but they are great.
I have a high arch and have not had a problem yet but there is no support with the inner sole it is very flat. will most likely get an after market replacement.
The carbon soleplate is thin and stiff placing your foot closer to the pedals which I like.
The overall buils quality of the shoes is very good I have no issue with the cleat fitting markings on the soleplate all were good.
If you do buy these shoes and they don't fit well, don't blame me and my review every foot is different. Try them on first somewhere else then buy here if they are cheaper.

A review based on Northwave's sizing charts, I'm sure the shoes are awesome if you get the right size. 03-11-09
I got my Northwave shoes yesterday and excitedly tried them on, only to find that they are way too small. This is not the fault of backcountry, as the sizing chart on the box was the same one on the web site. I'm usually a size 11 US, 46 EU, but Northwave's conversion chart said I should order a 44. Moral of the story (confirmed by LBS): stick to your EU size and ignore any European company's conversion charts.
First off, this is my first pair of road cycling shoes. They feel stiff and seem to transfer power efficiently. I think they run a bit small, and I'm currently on my third exchange... from 42.5 to 43 to 43.5... but I'm satisfied. The ventilation is good. Only negative is that the hashmarks on the sole are not painted the same on each shoe, so alignment is more of an eyeball game than a science... which is fine.
