Description of Ninthward Rory Silva Pro SFS Alpine Ski: |
Fulfilling pro skier Rory Silva's dreams, the semi-soft, morbidly obese Ninthward Rory SFS Ski floats anything, stomps everything, and looks nasty to boot. With a waist fat enough for Albert and a full poplar core, the Rory is made to haul ass in the lightest, deepest pow. Thick, 8.5mm slanted ABS sidewalls put the power down in crud and take a beating on bony runouts, but if you think the Rory SFS Ski is just for big dump days, think again. While its Sir Mix-A-Lot-worthy dimensions would suggest otherwise, the Rory slays the park with a 24-meter turn radius and the skill of an axe murderer...exactly, in fact, like the one on the topsheet graphic.
Bottom Line: It's like bringing a bat to a bar fight.

| Big and burly (and ugly) but quick 01-21-09 |
Rob de Luca (29): |
| First of all, if you still have reservations about Ninthward making durable skis, don't. I picked up a pair of the Rory SFS 183's on a great deal, figuring I'd use them as an early-season pow/rock ski, and so far they have been bomber. They are now made in Elan's factory (Slovenia), and mine have taken some beatings without much to show for it. Big thick edges, thick sidewalls, and hard bases. As far as performance, the 'shop flex' out of the box was stiffer than I thought it'd be, but on hard snow it feels like the flex goes through the entire ski, rather than being soft in the tip and tail like most noodly fatties. I've skied them everywhere in all types of conditions, and the best way to say it is that they are big, fat, damp planks that still like to turn in trees and tight spots. They don't feel super-poppy to me, but with Rossignol 150's they are not light, so that could have something to do with it. To be honest I am not a park and pipe skier so that doesn't really matter to me. I wanted a tough, fat ski to run over rocks and stumps during early-season thin coverage, and I am getting everything I want out of them, and more. As a side note, I hated the graphic at first, but it's growing on me in a 'never seen anything like this before' kind of way. |

| BUY NINTHWARD! 10-13-09 |
Ski Fatties 503 (1): |
| First off, i bought these after completely destroying a pair of Line chronic blends. It was fortunate to break those POS skis and buy something quality like ninthward. The sidewalls are BOMBPROOF and the base is thick. These skis are NOT ugly either, some people just cant rock some flashy bright orange skis I guess. I get compliments everywhere I go on Mt Hood with these skis. And they DESTROY the powder. You'll be landing backwards in powder in no time! They are really stiff and super fast on the hard pack too. These arent skis made for jibbers with oversize flanels on, this is a serious ski for serious situations. |

| Ugly but pretty good pow skis 03-18-09 |
Eric Parry (5): |
| Picked up these skis on a cheap deal right before sending out to Utah and they were great in some deep pow. Not too heavy like some and damn are they about as ugly as it gets but they're a good deal if your not willing to spend a lot. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of the Ninthward's and especially of the durability since they are such a young company. But I've got a couple days in them and haven't had any issues so far. The flex on them is a little stiffer than some other pow skis but they were pretty responsive. I skied a lot of trees and steep chutes and they held up just fine. |
