Description of Montrail Nitrus Trail Running Shoe - Women's:
Montrail built the Women's Nitrus Trail Running Shoes for those who log a lot of miles. The flexible synthetic uppers on the Nitrus expand to accommodate wider feet as well as the swelling that happens during long runs. Montrail's four-density midsoles and medial posting absorb shock and prevent over-pronation. Protection plates in the midsoles shield you from rocks and other feet-bruising hazards. Stretch-gusset tongues prevent trail debris from getting into your shoes, and Gryptonite outsoles feature aggressive lugging for traction on mountain terrain.

Bottom Line: Run a high-altitude 50-miler in these shoes.

i bought this shoe cause i do a lot of long distance trail runs in the rocky mountains. the shoes are big, heavy and clunky and stiff and ugly. but i figured what the hell if they last and do the trick. unfotunatley they don't last. the mesh seems started ripping after only a month. the shoes aren't rugged enough to be worth all the weight and stiffness. i later bought the continental divide and found them much more comfortable and they haven't started to fall apart yet.
