Waterproof breathable Gore-Tex bootie uppers in these shoes block moisture while allowing excess heat to escape. TPU protection plates make supportive platforms when you encounter sharp rocks, and gusseted tongues prevent dirt and small rocks from sneaking into your shoes. Montrail bottomed these shoes off with tractiony Gryptonite rubber outsoles.
Agree with the other reviewer that these shoes are very short. I always wear a size 8 (own several pairs of montrails) but my toes hit the front on the size 8 here. Also they're strangely wide and just look funny. Returning my pair also. I've worn the Montrail Hurricane's for years and had a hard time finding them...was hoping the Continental Divide would be a good replacement. Unfortunately they are not =(
I am returning these pretty cool looking shoes because they are too darned SHORT. Order at least 1/2 size bigger than your other shoes. The length is equivalent to half size smaller in North Face, Vasque, New Balance, etc. To make up for the shortness, they have made them very wide, so if you have a short, wide foot, these are perfect for you. They are very cute, so if they are the right fit for you, go for it.
