Montrail made the lightweight Odyssey Trail Running Shoes as a hybrid for running on knee-grinding streets and soft off-camber trails. A low-density heel softens heel strike on the road, while a stiffer forefoot lends solid footing on the trail. Montrail gave the Odyssey Shoes a gel pad in the forefoot for comfort on the road and protection on the trail. Seamless mesh allows your feet to breath and gives you smooth comfort when you don't feel like wearing socks.

This is a great price $$ for a great shoe. I've worn these for my weekly miles, tossed everything in a single season at them, cold, wet, muddy, heat, pavement, rocky trails, you find it, the Odyssey can take u there.

After wearing out the last pair of Masais I could get (4 pairs total), I had to move on to another shoe. The Odyssey felt good running in Colorado. But after only one muddy run on the La'ie trail in Oahu the treads started to peel away. Where to go next?

Love these shoes, I have torn them apart! Thing is they have help up mountain biking, running on or off trails, and just bumming around town. Super comfortable and roll with easy step. I have wide feet and never had an issue with any sock slipping in and feeling secure.
