Description of Millet Axon Pro GTX Jacket - Men's:
When the peaks are shrouded in dark, nasty clouds but you’re heading up anyway, pull on the Millet Men’s Axon Pro GTX Jacket. Thanks to Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric, you get durably waterproof and breathable protection from any weather the mountains can throw at you. The front hand and arm pockets feature waterproof zippers for keeping your essentials dry, and the adjustable hood fits right over your climbing helmet. When the clouds part and blue sky arrives, open up the waterproof Underarm zips and let off some hot air. The adjustable drop hem fits under your climbing harness, and articulated shoulders let you reach for a tool placement without the jacket riding up.
NOTE to US Customers: Our Millet garments display the European size on the label. When ordering, please select your normal US size from the drop-down menu. Please view the sizing chart if you have questions.
Bottom Line: Climb to new heights in the Axon Pro.
I love this jacket. I have never owned another Gore-Tex jacket before, so I don't have a direct comparison, but this thing is awesome. I don't think I'd spend $450 on any jacket, but I got this on Steep and Cheap for about $170 and couldn't be happier. The quality does make it feel like a $450 jacket. On the sizing... I am 5'10", 160lbs, my arms are about average length, and the Medium fits me perfectly. The tag says medium, which I believe is the Euro size, and the US equivalent would be a Small I guess. That seems crazy to me because all my other technical outerwear is a Medium US size. The red is really bright, but I like it. The hood is wonderful and very adjustable - love the built-in visor.
Can't get enough.
Rugged and durable, you will never get wet in this thing. Fits excellent so long as you size up. I am 6' 165lbs ordered a US size L and its fits great. Wore on a canoe trip in northern New Brunswick, it poured rain for 48 straight hours and I was completley dry at the end of the trip. Also, allows enough room to layer under.
Overall I would strongly recommend.
Overpriced, Very waterproof, but the sizing is kaput. I ordered XL, being 6'2", 205. The sleeves are wayyy too short. Left hand zipper. Brown/Yellow colors are horrible, why dony they use black instead. Seriously, for this price I will get an orage, norrona or arcteryx shell next time... this jacket is dry if your arms are really short. The torso was tight too. This is a bad deal.
