They have a velours feel to them, fringed on the bottom but not at all tacky looking. Easy care. Feel light and don't cling. Just a pair anyone should have in their closet.

great pant, big waist, how about some other colors? 05-10-09
I now have two pair of Tambora Gene pants, so I guess I'm pretty happy with them. Love the soft micro-cord fabric, long length and the fit is good--except the waist gapes in back so a belt is necessary. I'm 5'6" 120lb and the size 8 are just a little loose on me, but that's fine for chasing the kids around & traveling. The overall look of these pants is fairly casual, with the raw edge hems. Wish they came in other colors...green, blue, black, anything.
I'm sad that I couldn't get the Mountain Hardwear Tambora Gene Pant to fit. They are made with a very soft material, and cute style. My normal size 4 had a far too small waist though, and the 6 was too big everywhere else.
