Description of Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Vest - Men's:
The Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Vest gives backcountry skiers and alpine climbers the core warmth they need on the mountain or simply around town. At barely over a pound, this puffy vest is shockingly light for its loft, and it fits into a small included stuff sack so you can cram it into your pack just in case. One-handed hem drawcords make this 650-fill down vest a snap to adjust on the fly, and fleece-lined hand pockets keep your fingers from turning blue and falling off.
Light and small enough to toss in the backpack without a second thought. Does what its suppose to do, meaning keep you super warm. This and a light shell will get you through ALOT of weather conditions. Great for around the campfire. Im confident in its durability. With dual purpose as my pillow at night it's just hard to go wrong.
I've always loved Mountain Hardware gear, but this is the first piece I've owned that I'm mixed on. It is well-made and warm, but it fits me like a life preserver (I'm 6'/170 lbs. and have a Large). Almost too bulky to wear under a shell. Personally, I'd size down one or consider a lower-profile option like the Patagonia Down Sweater Vest.
so this one is great, first off, tough fabric and very warm. it runs a bit big, i have a large and Im 6'1", 200#, and the large is a touch roomy but i wouldn't say im swimming in it at all. other than that no problems at all, i even had it embrodered without any issues (back lower flap).
