Description of Mountain Hardwear Jalapeno Glove :
Keep your hands hotter than a chili pepper with the Mountain Hardwear Jalapeño Ski Glove. Well, not quite—jalapeño hot would probably cause discomfort. But these gloves' light insulation keeps your fingers warm on those frosty mountain mornings. Mountain Hardwear used a three-layer waterproof breathable insert to keep snow and slush out and a polyester fleece lining to add warmth and wick moisture. The Jalapeño's shell consists of nylon ripstop with flexible softshell panels and durable cowhide palms. A Kevlar thread on the palms increases your grip on your ski poles and helps you keep hold of your planks in the parking lot.

Bottom Line: Wear the Mountain Hardwear Jalapeno Gloves for a full powder day and then reward yourself with some spicy fajitas.

Not warm enough   01-03-09

Though I really enjoy the look of these gloves, they just aren't that great on really cold days (<10 degrees). I find myself having to use handwarmers with these gloves, or even switching to another glove with a liner. I don't traditionally get cold quick either. I think they will be awesome for spring skiing, but they aren't cutting it for January.

LOUSY CINCH TECHNOLOGY   09-04-09

My hands tend to sweat even on colder days so the Jalapeno's were recommended to me by a pro at a great shop in Snowmass CO. I picked them up and found the wicking is extremely superior to the Dakine's I had before. I take them off often to let my hands cool a bit. So it was maybe 10 times per day for 5 days I took them off and put them on again before the first cinch strap broke. I kept riding them as it was the end of the season and I was going to send the one in for warranty. I didn't have a chance to ride 5 more days before the other cinch strap broke. Seems like bad technology to me rather than just a fluke.

So warm!   07-02-09

I received the Jalapeno gloves as a gift last winter. I love them, but can only wear them on the coldest days. They are very warm- sometimes too warm! The wrist strap is a great feature...no more dropping your gloves in the snow or worrying about them falling of the chairlift. Can't beat 'em!
