New from Mountain Hardwear this season is the Men's Wicked Snap Button-Down Short-Sleeve Shirt. Mountain Hardwear made this quick-drying, wicking polyester shirt with UPF 35 sun protection. With snap closures instead of buttons, this shirt is a breeze to get on and off.
Bottom Line: Wander the streets of Thailand, visit Uluru in Australia, or fly fish the Fremont River in Utah in your wicking, UPF-35 Mountain Hardwear Wicked Snap Shirt.
This shirt looks sharp and feels great to have on, but for a supposedly rugged shirt it just doesn't stand up. I've gone through two now in the past year. They snag on the smallest little things. Who wants to wear a shirt around with a bunch of thread pulls all over it?
This is the last shirt that Mtn Hardwear offers that it still in the original Wicked fabric, which, although is somewhat susceptible to snags (I've fixed all but one snag in 3 years on 12 shirts, BTW) there is no shirt that wears as cool or dries as fast. The other plusses of this shirt is that it has a collar so you can go from trail to the restaurant. Well, OK, a casual restaurant anyway. Close-fit, short tails (so it doesn't look sloppy). It's all about comfort and style, not hardcore durability, but again, durability hasn't been a validated concern for me.
Like the other reviewers, this shirt is not rugged at all and gets caught on things and threads pull away from the fine mesh of the shirt, leaving very noticeable visual damage in the otherwise smooth texture. This happened within my first day of using it.
Not as breathable as I would like. I like Nylon or Nylon/Polyester blends much better, like the MH Excursion shirt.
