Wear the shell and insulating liner together or each of them separately to create three backcountry options. The shell is seam-taped and coated in waterproof breathable Conduit to keep rain, sleet, and snow out. As you skin up the slopes, while perspiring hard, wear it without its insulating inner liner. On your ride down the mountain or when temps plummet, zip in the insulating liner. On a bluebird spring day, the wind- and water-resistant liner is all you'll want.

So after much research and deciding to buy this jacket. I am very please with its versatility. I love the two layers that can be separated, the outside conduit layer provides protection from the wind and moisture and the primaloft gives me the warmth I seek when its below 0. I use the individual layers to snowshoe, downhill ski, x-country ski and who knows in my most adventurous attempt it will come ice climbing and minor mountaineering with me. It definitely meets the needs up here in Alaska. The layers together keep me warm from place to place. I love the chest pocket and arm pocket and color. Yeah I'd say I'm satisfied.
