Wear the Merrell Men’s Meridian Shorts while you hike or climb and feel what it’s like to be free. These shorts’ Opti-Wick technology quickly transfers moisture away from your skin and lets it evaporate, so you won’t get cold or clammy while you work that offwidth crack. When your only possible move requires a gymnastic leg spread, you’ll appreciate the Meridian Shorts’ gusseted crotch. A UPF rating of 50+ provides some peace of mind when you spend all day on an exposed route.
Bottom Line: Gain vert without your shorts hiking up.
i love these so much that i keep praying SAC will have them again cause i want another pair. i can nearly see paying full price but am holding out for a steal. they fit pretty true to size, aren't baggy, dry super quick and look sharp.
Very nice short that has held up quite well to substantial abuse. I like the fabric which is thin and dries quickly, with just a little stretch. Interesting cut without looking super technical. Only gripe is that the horizontal cut just below the belt line sometimes rides up a little bit, giving a mild skirt-like (or pleated short) appearance. Length is definitely not bermuda short length, but you won't look like a hiker from the mid-70s either (mine fall about an inch above the knee). All in all, a solid piece of gear at the BC.com price..... an epic steal at the SAC price.
Picked up a couple pairs from SAC and am satisfied. Wearing them around town I have been very satisfied. The plastic buttons up front worry me a bit but at least there are two of them. One note, the putty color is more green than the picture lets on.
