Description of Mavic Helium 3/4-Zip Cycling Jersey - Short-Sleeve - Men's: |
 |
Rise above the competition thanks to the Mavic Men’s Helium Short-Sleeve Cycling Jersey. This Mavic jersey features Hot Ride fabric for riding in very hot temperatures. The fabric wicks moisture away from your skin and dries quickly as you tackle grueling hill sections. Ergo Grip design keeps the Helium in place without feeling constricting as you ride both in and out of the saddle.
Bottom Line: Lightweight moisture management keeps you cool.

| I wore this on a warm cross race, and was glad to have done so. It's very, very lightweight, the concept of mesh fabric taken to the extreme. Comfort level and fit are very good, fit is "euro style", so if you don't like very tight fits, order a size up. I am concerned about it's lifespan, as not only is it thin, but there are patterns in the M logo cut out of thin mesh material which I'm pretty sure won't hold up under heavy use. All in all, for bonktown price I'm happy with it. |

| I own Mavic Helium jersey, and it's possibly the most regrettable thing i have ever got. first, its too expensive and second, this is the greatest crime commited by Mavic jersey design division (who obviously dont ride bicycles): exceedingly uncomfortable. in choosing to stitch together 4 different materials, as you can imagine, it creates a sizeable clump. clumped stitching is bad enough, yet where it happens is the key scandal. at the lower back. precislely where you need comfort most when you are in race ride posture. as you hold the handlebars and you are arched over, this parrallel clump of stitchings digs permanently into you skin. even the cheapest jersey would not commit this crime. for such an expensive one, this the school of Benny Hill design. Mavic may make good wheels, but this top £££ end Helium jersey is a farce. the designers are doing April fool's day. I would have done many times better at noodle work at school. in fact, I did. faced with a jersey i would never wear because of discomfort, I began to take it apart, stitch by stitch. I took out all the back pockets and sewn back by hand the back of the jersey with the stitchings (this time) facing outside of the jersey (not inside as it was originally). so minus all the back pockets, I now had less material and with sticthings appearing outside the jersey, it is finally comfortable. but what a marathon i went thru. My Giordana is 70% less the price. I think Mavic web should listen to their customers and have a feedback (they dont). Giordana have been making clothes for eons. Mavic havent. worse, this jersey is made in tunisia! not Italy! it's also quite clear, this jersey has not sold at all. there appear to be no reviews of it, and its prices have been slashed. there is a new updated Helium (2010) version. it has Yellow sections instead of Black, which is a good move. however, i very much doubt they have resolved the stitching issue. the brag on breathability and lightness is correct. but that alone, is not what makes a great, wearable jersey. Giordana is king, still. |
