Whether your sights are set on a skin track, an alpine wall, or just a wet backpacking trip, the Marmot Men’s Cyclone Jacket ensures Gore-Tex guaranteed waterproof breathable function and a comfortable, ergonomic design and feel. Lightweight and free of any over-wrought bells and whistles, the Cyclone Jacket stands up to Nature’s nastiest conditions. 2-Layer Gore-Tex fabric shuns external moisture and still breathes well enough to eliminate the sauna effect after you’ve gotten your heart pumping.
Bottom Line: Don this torrent of waterproof breathability.
My Cyclone just came in the mail Friday. Sizing feels good- I like a looser fitting jacket so I can layer my fleece shell and technical turtleneck underneath when it's cold out. I'm 6'0", 208 lbs, 43-44 jacket with a 37 inch waist and theres plenty of room. Plan to use in Vermont or Utah this winter. Looking forward to winter, and it's coming early in NJ this October!
I love the quality and material of the Goretex Performance Shell, it is very light and soft, not like my old Goretex XCR. Marmot quality is evident throughout. I have been looking for a Goretex parka with pitzips and have been impressed with the breathability, comfort and fit of this one. Tested it in 75 degree heat with 74% humidity for about an hour around the house and was perfectly comfortable. While you won't be able to find any reviews for this jacket (I found out that this was made for Backcountry by Marmot and that's why) this is a very high quality jacket for a great price, especially if you can get it on SAC. Can't wait to ski in it this winter!
I just got this from Steep and Cheap at a steal of a price for a Marmot jacket. The Goretex Performance Shell fabric is light, soft, and very breathable as I am testing it on a 75 degree day with 73% humidity and I am comfortably sitting typing this message. The Cyclone is made specifically for Backcountry by Marmot (that's why you won't find it on Marmot's website or any reviews of it anywhere). It has Marmot's high quality. Only complaint so far are the zippers on the pockets and pitzips are a little stiff, hopefully they will loosen up. One thing though--it doesn't have a snow skirt like it says in the description, just a drawcord at the hem. Seems to work pretty good anyway. All in all I am very pleased--especially getting a Marmot Goretex for this price. I will report again after ski season starts.
