Description of Marmot Snazette Softshell Jacket - Women's:
The Marmot Women’s Snazette Softshell Jacket brings a little style to your workouts and mountain excursions. Made with stretch Polartech Windbloc fabric the Snazette prevents wind, light moisture, and cool temps from slowing you down, and it moves with you when you pick up the pace. An elastic drawcord at the hem allows you to cinch out unwanted drafts. High-set pockets allow easy access to your essentials when you’re strapped into a harness or carrying a pack, and the slim cut lets you layer the Snazette under your ski coat or rain jacket.
Bottom Line: Bring some snazz to the great outdoors
As the above respondent noted, it's too short in front. And that's saying a lot considering I am short-waisted. I am rather annoyed that so many tech shells seem to be sized so short...in the real world most of us aren't looking to strap into a climbing harness.
This thing rises to the rib cage when arms are extended up, carrying my thin baselayer shirt with it. Couple this with medium-rise pants and voila, instant full-on, belly bonanza. Even just hunching my shoulders up makes this go up to just below my belly button. I'm constantly having to pull it back down, even when just standing.
Can you tell I'm annoyed?
It's also sized small through the chest. I'm a 34 (according to size chart I'm a size sm in this) but a "C" cup. This is too small for a "C."
I thought about sizing up, but then realized the mid-section would look big and floppy on my smaller waist, giving me a boxy look.
It does seem to be wind-resistant, so it may work well for cycling, and it doesn't rise up too badly when you are in "road bike" position.
I would return this but the Steep and Cheap deal was decent, and this item seems to work really quite decently under my Arcteryx shell as a mid layer,(but you'd better tuck your baselayer into your pants and cinch down that powder skirt on your shell) so for that I'll give it a 3 instead of a 2.
Please, somebody bring back a little length to tech jackets. This is getting ridiculous. Put even an inch in front- length on this and I'd be a hell of a lot happier.
This is a good coat, it's really warm. I was just a bit surprised that it quite short and the front is shorter than the back. Also, I bought the green color coat and the colors are a bit brighter then the picture shows.
