Description of Marmot Monarch Divide Softshell Jacket - Women's:
When you’re in the mountains, zip up the Marmot Women's Monarch Divide Softshell Jacket, go fast, and stay comfortable. This midweight jacket’s WindStopper Soft Shell fabric blocks all wind, resists wetness, and breathes like crazy. Oh, and it feels ridiculously soft–you won’t believe this is a tech shell. Marmot strategically lined the Monarch Divide with soft fleece to add warmth where you need it most without impeding breathability, making this softshell ideal for alpinists, hikers, and backcountry skiers who cover large amounts of terrain each day.
Bottom Line: The WindStopper Soft Shell wonder for going fast in the mountains.
I'm looking forward to using this jacket for ski touring, hiking, and wearing about. I would call this a fairly light-weight softshell. It has a nice, soft brushed feel on the inside, and a bit of fleecy lining around the collar and a few other sections. I think it will breathe really well (and I will have to comment again after I've used it some). The Rainwater/Celestial Blue color is brighter and has a hint more of a teal colored tone in both colors than the picture. I agree with the other reviewers who say this jacket is a bit on the small side. I bought this in a medium and it is more fitted than my other medium Marmot jackets (Precip and a synthetic jacket/sweater). I'm 5'5" and about 130lbs. and think this will be perfect for wearing over a baselayer or a baselayer and midweight midlayer. The sleeves are just barely long enough for me, but my experience with clothing in general makes me think I may have longer than average arms. This jacket is a nice length and is longer than some of the other Marmot softshells, many of which I find are just a bit too short. I didn't find the bottom of the jacket to be tight like one of the other reviewers, and it does flare out at the waist a bit. I would certainly recommend this jacket, and if your normal Marmot size doesn't fit you with a bit of extra room, perhaps go up a size.

I love this coat! I am 5'4" 125 and a medium is perfect(enough room to wear layers underneath but not to bulky). The color wasabi is very nice also. And the coat is very warm...only warn it around town soo far but I cant wait to see how it is on the mountain
Great jacket, great features, but what's the deal with the neck being so big around? It's like a hood scoop on a hot rod. You could fit a scarf wrapped three times around inside. It's going back. Why can't mountainhardwear make a women's slim fit version of the windstopper tech jacket?
