Description of Marmot Photon Jacket - Men's: |
 |
Wear the Marmot Men's Photon Jacket alone on a sunny day, or throw it under a shell for a bomber cold weather set-up, either way you'll grab this softshell jacket every time you head out the door. In addition to having an attached rollaway hood, the Photon is wind-resistant, water-repellent and breathable, so you'll never cower from a storm. The Photon's 4-way stretch softshell material provides full mobility and a non-restrictive fit whether you're hiking, climbing or lapping up pow. Marmot's Pack Pockets put your small items close at hand and easily accessible even when you're wearing your backpack.
Bottom Line: Your do-it-all softshell jacket.

| almost perfect 07-08-08 |
Dustin Kimball (34): |
| I love marmot, and I own 6 of their jackets, including this one.
The photon is very waterproof and windproof. warm for spring and fall or a cool summer night. The pockets are large, as well as large inside pockets(no closures and the opening is small, but overall pocket is very big) along with the hood. The only bad things I have to say about it, is that its a bit short for my liking, I'm about 6 foot 150lb, and I got a medium. The other thing, the pit zips have really small openings, only about 6 inches. overall a good jacket. |

| Radon = pink, small pitzips; overall nice 12-07-08 |
Joel (1): |
| I originally ordered the radon red, had to return it; that's pink my friend.
The pitzips really are about 6", very tiny.
It's hard to find a softshell with an attached helmet-compatible hood (climbing helmet, not sure about ski helmet) and pitzips.
This isn't the perfect jacket (if it had better colors and longer pitzips it'd be close!), but you can't find anything cheaper with the same features.
For a budget, it's a good bet. If you want killer stuff with better feautres, get ready to shell out $300. |

| Just an FYI, Radon Red = Magenta.
I don't feel quite as manly wearing this as my other Marmot jackets (I've got 3 of em) but it is a very nice jacket. Warm and windproof, now I just gotta figure out a way to stop the other guys from laughing at me. Any Ideas? I am 6'2" 165lbs. The L jacket fits well, a little short for my gangly monkey arms, but every jacket always is. It could be cut a little more athletic for us skinny guys, but I'd say for the majority of the population it would fit true to size. |
