Enough with the 70s butt-tight ski pants—those might look rad and old school, but they’ll likely bust a seam when you launch off that booter. Better go for the Marmot Men’s Free Flight Pants. These babies have a loose cut and Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric. Brushed tricot on the inside of the seat and thighs adds extra comfort while you rip down the double-blacks, and flapped cargo pockets hold snacks so you won’t hit a low-fuel wall mid-day. Needless to say, the waterproof breathable fabric busts outside moisture without making your legs feel stuffy.
These are excellent. The fabric is great. The pockets are great. The fit is great although I am about a 34 waist and definitely wear a medium. I would say mediums were more like a 33-34. I had to return the large pair I had after I tried them on. I wouldn't go with the large unless I was at least a 35, and then I would still need a belt.
The fabric on them feels like a soft carhart fabric, but not cotton of course. Tey are really tough, and will take plenty of punishment even from trees. The loose (but not baggy) cut on these allows for unhindered movement without trailing out behind you.
When it is kind of chilly out i wear these on the street, they are low profile enough to pass as regular pants.
