Whether you’re climbing into your sleeping bag or layering up for a day of snowshoeing, put on the Marmot Women’s Wool Bottom and stay warm. Polartec wool with Cocona technology wicks away moisture and helps the Marmot Wool Bottom retain its shape no matter how much you wash and wear it. Flat lock seams prevent chafing when you have a day of exploring the backcountry ahead of you. And Marmot designed the Wool Bottom specifically for a woman’s body so you won’t feel like you’re wearing a smaller version of your boyfriend’s bottoms.
Bottom Line: Designed to fit and keep a woman’s bottom warm.
I wasn't sure which of the women's wool long underwear bottoms would be the best, so I ordered the Icebreaker, the Marmot, and the Smart Wool. The Icebreaker long underwear bottoms are 1) just a tiny bit scratchy 2) much too tight in the elastic waist band, which was both unflattering and uncomfortable and 3) too high up on my torso, with the waist coming far over my belly button. The Marmot have kind of thick seams in the legs that makes them less attractive and less suitable for use as leggings that might show (versus long underwear that would never show), and they were also baggy in the butt and high-waisted. In contrast, the Smartwool have a much softer knit, and they have a nice, covered elastic waist band that hits just below my natural waist without binding or creating a muffin top (and I am thin, so the Icebreaker ones had to be really tight in the waist to make that happen). I LOVE the Smart Wool bottoms, though I do also love my Icebreaker wool tops.
