Description of Marmot Power Stretch Fleece Vest - Men's:
This Marmot vest uses body-hugging Polartec Power Stretch fleece and flatlock seams to create a close fit that works great whether you wear it alone or in the middle of your winter layers. By concentrating insulation on your core, the Marmot fleece vest helps you stay warm without making you overheat when you start cruising on a steep section of trail.
Bottom Line: Layer up for chilly weather with the snug-fitting Marmot Power Stretch Fleece Vest.
Personally, 300 lbs sounds WAY too big for a "normal" size vest; that other guy should be shopping at a Big N Tall :) I'm 6 feet, 165 lbs and a size Large fits PERFECTLY. Athletic fit, without a lot of extra material flopping around when trail running or biking. If you're a normal sized guy, this vest is the jam.
Great looking vest that provides more core warmth than expected. At 5'6" and 165# (I'm "husky") a medium was a good choice (perfect through the chest and shoulders although a little long - I can't blame Marmot for my height). I would definetly recommend.
Power Stretch is an uberfabric and i'm a big fan. Needed a power stretch vest for a variety of uses and they're surprisingly hard to come by -- few manufacturers make them. Dunno why. Marmot's always been great quality, and this vest is no exception. But the one hangup i had with it i couldn't get over -- the length. I'm 5'10" 205lbs size 44 and went with the large. Loved the snug fit, the high collar and usable pocket. But the vest ran so far down it completely covered my backside. Can't roll it up (looks too silly), can't tuck it in (who the hell wants to tuck in a vest?), and because it's such a snug fit it looks odd hanging all the way down.
Really wanted this vest to work for me. Vests are for core warmth -- can't fathom why Marmot would make this product this way. If you're tall, it'd prolly work for you tho. Hate to return it but i have to.
