The Marmot Women's DriClime Jacket has been praised for years as one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you can wear in the mountains. Its combination of a wicking lining and a windproof breathable nylon shell make it an excellent choice for a mid-layer on winter trips or a stand-alone top in nicer weather. Marmot gave the DriClime Jacket a little extra weather protection with Marmot Defender DWR, which sheds light rain and moisture. The DriClime Jacket weighs only 14oz and compresses well when it's time to stash it in your pack; though it's not likely to be in there very often.
Bottom Line: Do more with less when you're wearing the Marmot DriClime Jacket.
This is the best jacket I have ever owned. It's warmer than you expect, softer than I could have dreamed, fits fantastically, and is amazingly wind resistant. It almost makes me sad that it's summer right now because I can't find any excuse to wear it! This jacket is almost perfect for hiking, backpacking, cycling, hanging out, walking the dog, and just about any outdoor activity you enjoy.
The only word of caution, I bought the Radiate color and in the pictures above it appears as golden- it's actually a great orange. I was surprised that it didn't match the picture but the orangey color is awesome!
I love the Marmot DriClime series. this jacket is a little more of a heavyweight than the windshirt and does everything Marmot promises it will. I love it for light rain and / or aerobic activities (running, backpacking, etc.) or even as a mid-layer in the mountains since it wicks like mad. I even wear it around town too because it looks so fabulous. I should have bought 2 of them.
I love this jacket. The fit is great, it's incredibly versatile, and it's light. I have used it as a baselayer, mid-layer, and outer layer. The inside is nice and soft against the skin. ONLY drawback is the non-zippered pockets : I get concerned that I'll lose things out of them. Oh, a drawstring at the waist would also be nice. But even with these two small issues, I'll be buying another one when mine wears out!
