Description of Marmot Power Stretch Full-Zip Fleece Jacket - Men's:
The slightly stretchy, go-anywhere do-anything Marmot Men's Power Stretch Full Zip Jacket gives you low-profile insulation whether you wear it alone over a base layer or under a hard shell. Marmot made this zip-up fleece jacket with Polartec's amazingly comfortable Power Stretch fleece. The Power Stretch Jacket's flat-lock seam construction won't rub you the wrong way, and the zipper chin guard plays nice with you face when you're fully zipped in. Stash your keys, power gel, or lip balm in the zippered front pockets and keep your nose drip under control with the soft nose wipe on the cuff.
Bottom Line: The Marmot Power Stretch Jacket—non-restrictive layering and plush warmth.

Great middle layer! 11-26-07

This unconventional fleece is great as a middle layer in the super cold, and equally great as an outer layer in warmer conditions. The outside of the jacket is not your typical fleece, it's more textured and not as soft, but the inside of the jacket is the soft micro-fleece material you love so well. the sleeve length is on the longer side, so if you have long arms, this is the one for you.
This is not a typical fleece as one might expect from Marmot, but rather somewhere between fleece and softshell. It is certainly not windproof, but it is not intended to be. This jacket is great to wear over a compression top and under a waterproof shell as a mid-layer. it fits tight against the body keeping in warmth, and has ample comfort spots with really soft fleece, i.e. around the collar and wrists. Marmot tops, as a rule, have longer sleeve lengths, so if you need a mid-layer with a little more length in the sleeves, this lightweight, attractive fleece is for you!
My girlfriend bought me this jacket as a christmas present:)
So i was reading the review by aj..., and i have to say, it's pretty much everything i would say about the jacket:
-it's warm and comfortable
-it's not wind or water proof
-it's a slim cut to wear under other layers
-i like the zippered pockets
biggest problem is that the bottom side of the forearm pills after a few weeks of wear (but doesn't effect the function of the jacket).
overall would buy again, in fact i own the half zip too.
