Pitzips allow quick ventilation to keep you from overheating while you break trail in knee-deep snow up a summit ridge. Marmot made the hood large enough to fit over a helmet, so you can just pull it over your brain bucket when the wind and snow get really nasty.

I bought this for my girlfriend--She loves Marmot products and always takes a Medium--This jacket however was cut quite trim in the chest and shoulders--so a size larger than normal may be a good decision.
