Description of La Sportiva Viper Climbing Shoe - Unisex: |
 |
Pull on the La Sportiva Viper Climbing Shoe and sink your teeth into a wicked gym session or a go at your overhanging project. This slip-on is built on a modified Katana last with a slightly downturned toe for grabbing power. The thin sole adds total sensitivity, and the Hidden Heel Shock Absorber takes the sting out of gym and bouldering falls. *The Viper may stretch up to one whole size after repeated wear, so size accordingly.
Bottom Line: Bite down hard.

| Great slipper 06-23-09 |

| The Viper is another great slipper from La Sportiva. I wear a size 10 street shoe and a 39.5 fits true-to-expected for this level of performance shoe. I wouldn't size down more than that. A half size up for me would make this a good warmup shoe but probably not a go-to for more difficult problems. Others may be more comfortable with that half-size up, though any larger and you really lose the intended benefits of this shoe. Also expect this shoe to stretch a half to a full size, so downsize accordingly when you buy. This shoe will be an awesome higher performance all around shoe, excelling on both technical vertical terrain as well as steeps. The last on the Viper also makes this a very precise shoe for toeing into pockets and on small edges. Great value, great performance, super comfortable for the performance level. |

| This is my first pair of slippers and I must say they are nice and comfortable. I am 11.5 (US) street and a 42.5 is good - just enough room to move my toes a bit, but even a half size tighter and they take too long to get on. I bought them to be my gym/easy/comfortable shoes, and they fit this purpose very well. They have stretched maybe a 1/4 euro size since the first try-on. Have climbed with them at the Gunks and they are *very* good at smearing and good at edging. I wouldn't want to heel hook or climb lots of steep routes in them though... |

| Don't expect to be able to get this slipper on and off easily. You might wear yourself out getting the shoes on before you get any climbing in. Sizing is about the same as the Katana. I wear a 9 and the 38.5 are a good fit. This shoe does everything you could want it to though once you get it on. Definitely worth the SWEET sale price. |
