Description of La Sportiva Pikes Peak Trail Running Shoe - Women's: |
Every stitch of the La Sportiva Pikes Peak Women's Trail Running Shoes is made to give you cushioning and support on long-distance runs. These shoes were originally designed for the grueling 7,815ft-vertical trail marathon up Pikes Peak, and they easily take on the longest trail runs around. When you hit the nasty hillside traverse at mile 16, the 2.5mm composite shank offers supreme torsional rigidity to keep you on your feet. A narrow heel cup eliminates lift and keeps your foot in place where it takes advantage of this excellent support. Triple-density TrailShock EVA midsoles give the Pikes Peak shoes incredible cushioning, so your feet feel as good at mile 25 as they did at mile one.
Bottom Line: The La Sportiva Pikes Peak Women's Trail Running Shoes is for those who consider a 10-mile outing to be a warm up.

Loved the fit and support of these shoes. *And* I wore them for a full 1000 AT miles. The tread was still in okay shape at that point, but the uppers had lost there support.

This is the first time I own this brand. I went ahead to order these because they have good review. I am so gland that these shoes are so comfortable and good looking. True to the size. Nice design.

comfortable, but lacking in durability 09-01-06

I bought these shoes for mountain running & approach shoes. Although they are comfortable, the rubber on the toes started to wear off on the first climb and by the second one I had a hole in fabric above the toe. I've used Montrail Hardrocks for the same purpose with no issues.
