Description of Louis Garneau Wind Buster Cycling Jacket - Men's:
You don’t want to hide your favorite hot pink jersey underneath a jacket, yet you also don’t want to freeze your chest hairs off. Pull on the Louis Garneau Men’s Wind Buster Cycling Jacket to block blustery weather and repel water. The transparent front shows your jersey underneath (we wonder what pink looks like under orange—more pumpkin or more salmon?). Don’t worry about overheating as you push uphill while wearing this packable, lightweight jacket: wicking, breathable sleeves and back panel prevent you from roasting in your own sweat.
Bottom Line: So you like bright colors—no judgment here.
The wind-block panels work well, but the sleeves are pretty porous. This limits its usefulness below 50 degrees F or so. It also seems to retain odors a bit more than most. On the other hand, I haven’t had any issues with materials, fit or quality of workmanship. And it is being sold at a good price.
First thing to note -- this does NOT have a "transparent front," regardless of the description. That isn't a big deal (though it might have been cool), but the front is lined with the same material that makes up the sleeves & back. All that says, I think this makes a better (good!) cool weather, wind jersey than a jacket -- and some places list it that way. Bottom line: I got it for a great price, and I'm sure it will do quite well in its "new" role.
