A litany of pockets keeps you locked and loaded while you're out fishing on the water, and the Extrasport Sturgeon Life Jacket's low-profile design and heat-managing mesh panels add cool comfort. There's mesh on the back, sides, and shoulders of the Sturgeon, so you won't be desperate to join the fish as the afternoon sun beats down. Foam panels in the Sturgeon glide over one another to create a non-blocky, customized fit, and the shoulder and waist can be adjusted by a simple pull on the waist webbing.
Bottom Line: Wearing a real sturgeon would be wet, clammy, and smelly. Allow us to suggest Extrasport's Sturgeon instead.
The life vest has thick flotation foam in the front in addition to the large pockets so the chest area is a little bulky. It does fit well though and high back makes the ride more comfortable for riding in my SOT kayak with the tall seat. It also dries very fast.
This pfd is perfect for my application (saltwater kayak fishing). The four large pockets are great for holding things that you need on hand while fishing (small tackle box, granola bars, knife, vhf radio, etc.), as well as emergency equipment (basic first aid kit and flares). Given the limited storage on my SOT kayak, this close-at-hand storage is really useful on the water. And, I like the ability to keep my safety equipment on me, given that if I were in an emergency situation, my yak might be unreachable.
The highback does not interfere with my seat at all either, while the mesh shoulder straps breath quite well. Very well designed product--would definitely recommend.
