The materials in this top are very nice and both the body and gaskets have a nice feel. However the piece of fabric that lengthens the neck closure is too long. When the neck is closed this feature greats a funnel that allows fairly small splashed on the upper 1/3 of your torso into the main body of the jacket. This problem cannot be fixed by tightening the neck closer. It is a design feature.

Just got this off of SAC (like everything else! haha!) for a song. It is still winter here in WI and it will be a while before I can paddle. But I wanted to do a quick review on this since it has been clearanced. Basically the construction seems great (initial testing in the shower went well! lol) and I am sure this jacket will work great for early spring paddling (when matched with my whitewater skirt and neoprene gloves.) The main reason I wanted to post though is this: This jacket is actually a very dark blue, not the femmy blue you see in the above picture. A dark navy blue and the both shoulders sport a recycling logo with "IR" in the center and the lower left front has "immersion research" printed on it. I'm 5'9" 170# athletically built. The medium fits well with some room for light layering. *update* Had an opportunity to get this thing wet in the thawing Fox river. It kept me warm and dry while paddling around giant chunks of ice.
