Description of Icebreaker BodyFit260 Altitude Crewe - Long Sleeve - Women's:
Gain elevation in your Icebreaker Women's BodyFit260 Long-Sleeve Altitude Crewe. Icebreaker made the midweight Altitude Crewe shirt from merino wool to keep you comfortable through changing weather on your autumn hike from the trailhead to the summit. Merino wool breathes and pulls sweat from your body to keep you dry as you exert, and it insulates as the weather gets cooler on the way up. As you hike up switchbacks, this raglan shirt feels comfortable underneath your backpack because it has no shoulder or back seams to chafe your skin. At the summit, pull a jacket on over this Icebreaker base layer, and enjoy the view—with merino wool, you don't feel clammy or chilled as you cool down.
Bottom Line: The Icebreaker Altitude Crew will get you to the mountaintop in comfort.
I've become a complete fan of their products. They keep me and the girls (both kinds) Hot when we need it. I could never wear wool, till now. My polar fleece's become lonely. Icebreaker works at home in the Rockies, on early walks in the city I'm stuck in (way west), and I keep one in my on-flight bag. They make a trip comfortable for the daughter that runs class 4 rapids, look stylish on the other that's running between subways in NY City. They cover the gamut in affect, style, comfort, range of levels. I shied at the price till I wore my 1st. Worth it. Try it.
Fun top. I like the thumb holes for putting on additional layers. Very warm. Great to layer or wear alone. The colors are great. The extra fabric in the back does wonders for keeping out plumber drafts.
This was my first icebreaker and I absolutely LOVE that they don't stink! I don't know what to do with my synthetic base layers! I was really worried that it would be itchy, but I read so many good reviews about Icebreaker that I had to buy just one to try it. It REALLY isn't itchy, even though my skin just can't stand other wool. There are two issues I have with this top: (1)the neck hole is a bit small. I think I have a pretty normal sized head and neck, but it takes a lot of effort to pull this on (and I can sometimes feel it pulling at my neck while I'm wearing it). (2) the little icebreaker tag on the bottom right bothers me sometimes, but I stop noticing it after I've had it on for a while. Everything else about it is so great I didn't give up on icebreaker--I now have 5 more! Anyway, it's not for people with big heads or thick necks! Not the best Icebreaker I've had, but warm and stink-proof!
