Description of Helly Hansen Zeta CIS Jacket - Men's:
Zip up the Helly Hansen Men’s Zeta CIS Jacket and streamline your profile without sacrificing waterproof protection. This three-in-one jacket has all the pockets, features, and goodies you want for winter adventures, but doesn’t look like a stuffed turducken when you put it on. Helly Hansen’s Helly Tech 2L waterproof breathable fabric keeps you dry in storm conditions, and the removable Cross Insulator inner jacket adds low-profile warmth when the temperature drops below freezing.
Bottom Line: Handles every condition from A to Zeta.
This coat is great! My last HH lasted me 10 years of daily wear from October to April, and even then it didn't wear out it just started looking a bit rough.
This jacket has a great shell and a very comfortable insulated inner layer that is great to wear on its own on dry days. The tabs for the buttons that hold the insulator into the shell could use some reinforcement but as long as you are careful with them they do their job inconspicuously. The pockets are well placed for access with a pack and help with venting. The construction is very clean and robust without being too bulky. The fit is bang on for me as well. I wear a medium and am 5'9" 160lbs. The sleeves on my last HH were on the short side, not so with this one. The things that stop me from giving it 5 stars are nitpicky.
The velcro closure on the front(I prefer snaps) and the difficult to operate by feel hood strings. Also I think pit zips that go down the underside of the arm from the body work better than these ones that only open in the armpit.
