Description of Helly Hansen Zeta 2L HT Jacket - Men's:
When the only thing between you and the storm is your jacket, you’ll appreciate the Helly Hansen Zeta Jacket’s fully taped seams and waterproof breathable fabric. This two-layer shell seals out the storm while letting sweat escape freely. After schooling some overconfident kids in the park, unzip the pit vents and cool down—then duck the ropes for a powder run. The hideaway stretch waist gaiter and jacket-to-pant interface stop the freshies from soaking your mid layers. The hood’s one-handed drawcord lets you make adjustments on the fly, and stretch panels accommodate a helmet.
Bottom Line: Score the Zeta Jacket and have a hard-working shell on your side all winter long.
I wore the Zeta all season this year at Vail with a baselayer and one or two fleeces underneath. The jacket looks great, and is totally sno-proof. I got stuck in multiple tree wells, and on some days, I was skiing in 3 feet of powder (yeah spring at Vail!) and with the powder skirt, kept completely dry underneath. The zips are nice, and the hood is adjustable. Unhooked, it fits over a helmet even.
In short, I was very happy with it. It's a little heavier than your average shell (it's not ultra lightweight like the ones from cloudveil and arc'teryx), but as a result, it's a little warmer too. i'd say, it's great for days 20 degrees and above. any colder, and i'd go with a parker
it's also quite nice, i often wear it around town as well
I got this shell on sale and couldn't be happier with it! I was a little worried about the Zeta keeping me warm but I just threw on a layer of under armour and a long-sleeve T and was comfortable in about 20 degree weather. The Zeta does a great job of keeping out the elements (wind, water, etc) as well! I got compliments the first day I wore it on the slope! Awesome Shell! Thanks Backcountry!
