The Holden Women’s Golightly Jacket may look just right for a night on the town, but a fully taped shell and 10K waterproof fabric handles some serious mountain weather. This Jacket’s full-time hood and overlapping front flap easily handle a full-on snowstorm in January. Plus, when you get done riding, you can go straight to partying without looking like you just came straight from the slopes (which you did).
Bottom Line: Ready for the hill, ready for the city.
I bought this coat hoping for a snowboard jacket that was also feminine and cute.
It was feminine and cute, but although the large fit, it wouldn't fit any layers underneath, and it was somewhat restrictive in its fit. I am athletically built, but not huge - larges usually fit. So size up :-)
Since I had to return it, I can't vouch for its performance.
My initial review- haven't ridden with this jacket on yet..... I got this jacket because it's cute and stylish, as well as functional. I also like Holden's commitment to sustainability. There are many things I like about this jacket- plenty of pockets, great style, nice fit. There are short "sleeves" within the cuff of the jacket with a hole for your thumb, (think arm warmers sewn into the end of the jacket sleeve) this should help keep snow out, and keep the sleeves from riding up, a great feature. However- this jacket has patch pockets on the outside front, not handwarmers, so to walk around with your hands in your pockets is a little awkward- or trying to warm them on the lift- no so practical. My other complaint is that it seems to have a powderskirt with a zipper, but I can't figure out how I could possibly attach this to any pants I've ever seen. There are no snap loops which would attach to pants belt loops, and this thing would zip out, but also has a small zipper at the bottom of it. What is this for? Overall style of the jacket is 5 stars, Performance, I'm thinking will be high, Functionality is less well thought out. This coming from a designer who looks at everything with a critical eye.
The first thing I noticed was the material on this jacket. Always an A+ when buying Holden. I will admit I am very picky about my outerwear and will not purchase an item if it is only going to last 1 season.
The cut of this jacket is perfect for women and yet you can still stuff all your crap and still maintain a figure. Overall it seems as though it is a good purchase.
When looking at outerwear always consider your color choice. I was very skeptical of the cream version of this jacket due to the fact that your cuffs will get very dirty when opening and putting your gear on at your car. You will be washing the cream verison all the time. (I know from previous jackets)
