Seek some serious protection from the elements in the Holden Women’s Madrid Jacket—you’ll get some progressive style along with it. A wide front storm flap, asymmetrical pockets, and a low belt draw plenty of comments from the liftline crowd, but you’ll feel even more excited about the Madrid Jacket’s excellent 20K-rated waterproofing and powder-friendly features. A roomy cut lets you push your limits with a full range of motion, and the oversized hood covers you + your biggest fuzziest hat.
Bottom Line: Designed by folks who love riding, even though it looks like it’s off a swanky Spanish runway.
First, I'm a guy. I bought a small Madrid jacket in red for my girlfriend. She hasn't seen it yet, but I'm so impressed I'm going to give it a review. I'm familiar with jackets from Burton, Bonfire, Descente, Foursquare, DC, etc.
First, it was so good looking I couldn't resist trying it on. It's tight on me, but I can tell it's cut very flatteringly for a female figure. What struck me is how comfortable it is - the inside is wayyy soft, the pockets are well placed, and it has wrist gaiters. Oh the wrist gaiters. It's really hard to find them on any jackets. This one comes with them and they are super comfy and I'm jealous. The jacket is reinforced with kevlar, and the fabric is clearly high quality, as is the general construction.
This is a premium piece of equipment. I was expecting a shell, but the jacket has just enough insulation that you could wear around town and stay warm and super stylish. It's well designed with great features - zip off powder skirt, removable belt, fleece lined hand pockets, pit zips, to name a few.
I can't wait to see it in action on the mountain!
