Hestra made the Eco-Cure Glove to remedy freezing fingers and melting ice caps. Hestra’s Ventile organic cotton has a very tight weave and naturally expands on contact with water, locking moisture out. The Ecocuir cowhide leather used on the palm and trim contains no synthetic dyes or harmful metals. Remove the replaceable, hand-washable natural wool liner to extend the life of this glove instead of replacing the whole thing.
Bottom Line: Because fingers should stay warm and poles should stay cold.
I always use an extra large glove.(never owned a Hestra product) The Hestra size 10 was too small.(size 10 noted in the sizing chart as XL) If the previous review had mentioned an actual size ,as opposed to "my other gloves are a 10", it would have helped me in ordering a larger size. Size up!
This is a really good glove for the value and pricing, but it's important to get the size right with the liner it uses. Sizes are true (mine was a size 10 as are my other Hestra gloves). Liner velcro tends to pucker-up the upper front cuff of the glove shell -- required some adjustment by pulling the velcro loose and re-seating the liner once you have it on. Very comforable and warm, good dexterity -- worked well on some of the more challenging hills/trails of Alta. Good stitching and patching in key wear areas. Glad I bought this one. Backcountry did a great job (as usual) getting the order processed and shipped -- reported status right away.
