The Head Monster 95 O.B. uses AirCoat hollow glass technology to create lightweight touring ski, yet the 95mm waist gives you enough underfoot to enjoy the ride down. Ski these boards inbounds or venture beyond the ropes with some randonee bindings. The lightweight touring frame won't kill you on the climbs. A pre-waxed tour top sheds snow when you're cutting fresh tracks to your favorite backcountry bowl. The liquimetal laminate gives you a reactive ride for wide open bowls or tighter tree runs, and the deep sidecut makes snappy, quick turns on variable snow a breeze.

Light and stiff - watch the binding mounting! 02-03-09
Really LIGHT ski for its sidecut! You'll have to catch the new Dynafit skis to have a pair under 3kg for a 95mm under foot, that's pretty impressive. Good float in the powder and crud. A bit too light on the groomers. I'm 5'10-180lbs-strong and I chose the 181cm to be a really versatile and light ski as I am using them almost exclusively for touring. It's a "short" 181 as the tip is really pointy. For resort use, I would have chosen the 191cm. With Dynafit bindings it is a great light package for touring. However don't rely on Head arrow to mount the bindings, set up your boot centre way behind it. I had to dismount them twice (yes, drilled 3 times... i know that sucks). Why? they have a pointy-low tip and a long tail & they are pretty stiff on the whole length so the tip won't get out of the snow easily: you will have to stay in the back seat in order not to sink in the deep stuff what causes burning thighs -believe me, really rare phenomenon for my tree trunk legs- and not-that-pleasant run when standing behind your skis. That's kind of uncool after a long climb when you're looking forward to the sweet looking downhill part! So, after a long explanation... in short: great great ski for touring because of its dimensions/weight but mount the bindings at least 3 cm behind the suggested position. Enjoy those light/wide performing babies!
These skis are perfect for their purpose. They are not made to go rip the resort chair lap after lap. While they are fun to ski, they are made to climb up and ski down, as they are designed to be super light, yet resilient and stiff enough to support you on the way back down. If you are looking to go trekking, skinning, or any type of backcountry adventuring then these are the perfect weapon.
I have been skiing the 181 for 3 seasons now and they really do it all. I am 6'0" 175 lb and have a background in racing, ski instruction and all around going for it. I use these both on and off piste. They handle high speed cruising as well as the bottomless champagne pow, and won't let you down in the crud. They don't like the bumps because they are not quick enough but any where else they excell.
