Description of GoLite Quest Backpack - 4000cu in - Women's:
For weekend and ultralight multiday backpacking trips, go light with the GoLite Women’s Quest Backpack; this pack carries the gear you need, yet it weighs less than 3 pounds. Plus, if you decide to do an overnighter and don’t need all the extra space, you can adjust the compression straps to decrease the Quest’s volume. That way, you won’t have an oversize pack flopping around your back as you hike or climb.
Features a longer hip-belt than last season’s and added reinforcement in the belt’s wings for enhanced comfort and durability
PU and DWR coatings on pack’s fabric mean excellent water-resistance
Hydration sleeve and port holds your water bladder (not included)
The comPACKtor system lets you decrease your pack’s volume when you don’t need as much space
Side compression straps release and join straps on opposing side to hold your snowshoes or snowboard
Removable lid has a pocket for headlamp, toothbrush, and other small items
Bottom Line: A versatile and lightweight pack that makes your journey more comfortable.
I just spent the past four months literally living out of this pack traveling through central America. This pack has really held up to some pretty awful conditions. The good: this pack is super light, and even when packed to capacity feels manageable for long hikes or walks through cities, is small enough to carry around in public transportation or even on planes, and is damn durable. The bad: the only opening to the main compartment is the top, so in in order to get something in the bottom, everything needs to come out. Also the lack of any small compartments makes it hard to organize small toiletries, though I think the newer model might have added an extra pocket or two. Also, this pack is really not at all waterproof, so plan on your gear getting wet in the rain. The bottom line: Golite has created a pack that is well worth the sale price, and can really take the backache out of heavy travel or backpacking
