Description of Gold Coast Sunset Cliffs Floater Longboard:
Yeah, yeah, we know the snow’s already falling and you’re thinking about fresh tracks and the terrain park, but whatever—there’s somebody out there that’s too poor for a car and needs some transpo. Gold Coast has the answer for those broke mo fos—the Sunset Cliffs Floater Longboard. While it probably won’t handle too well on snow-covered sidewalks, it will carve the crap out of dry pavement. The seven-ply sandwiched maple/Baltic birch features Gold Coast’s Breaker concave, which flexes to power you into turns, but stays rigid to maintain stability at high speeds. And the 65mm wheels roll easy over rock-strewn streets, so you shouldn’t have any issues once the ice melts.
Bottom Line: Because the streets are dry somewhere.
The bearings suck out of the box, so you gotta replace them. Also, one of the wood layers separated in the middle right in front of the back truck. That aside, it performs very well.
I bought my Floater off of Whiskey Militia and it had a few issues. First of all, the bearings were total crap out of the box. I went a bought some bones reds and that took care of that. And now, after about 6 months and not that much riding, one of the wood layers has separated a little in front of the back truck.
That aside, the board performs well once the trucks are taken care of. I got mine for about $75, so it was worth the money.
