G10 Audio Series   12-12-07

I have always owned Giro helmets. After purchasing the G10 Audi series Dec. '07, I will not buy anther Giro. I wear a size medium helmet and with the adjustable helmet sizes this helmet seemed perfect. Then, I tried to connect the chin strap and found out it was not long enough. To make it worse the padding on the chin strap was sewn in place so it did not line up under my chin. So, I switched to the large size. Of course this helmet is too big for me. Then came the audio problem that I am still dealing with. First set: only static went through the speakers. Second set: the audio worked fine as long as I did not use the bluetooth. The bluetooth only transmitted outgoing sound but would not work for incoming sound. Third set: same problem as the second set. Did I mention that Giro has not returned any of my calls or emails? I can't believe I wasted $180 for this headache.

Good helmet, bad sound   04-16-09

Helmet is fine except the vent mechanism sticks and is hard to move. I hooked my bluetooth up to iphone and that part worked OK although you can't ski and talk due to the wind noise. The feed through for music from the iphone is piss poor and unacceptable. Luckily I don't care about that. I do care about the lack of battery power since its been shutting off after 1 hour. I think Skullcandy did a crappy job on this and doubt whether I will ever buy their product again. If they co branded a piece of crap then that's their problem.

Nice helmet but....   03-24-09

If your gonna get the G10, don't get the audio version. The mute button doesn't work and I hear that people have problems with bluetooth. My main dissapointment is the speakers in the ear pads will make your ears hurt like hell after wearing the helmet for a couple of hours. So then the helmet is useless because you take it off. I would like the helmet if it weren't for that because it fits very well and the adjustability is nice. It keeps your head nice and warm and the vents are easy to open/close even with gloves on. I think it would be a great helmet without all of the audio crap.
