Description of FlyLow Gear Kung Fu Softshell Jacket - Men's: |
 |
FlyLow designed the Kung Fu Softshell for yo-yo runs, laps around the hollow, and five hour ascents followed by thrill-a-minute descents. Waterproof, breathable, and stretchy, this softshell jacket lets you ski with the will of a warrior! FlyLow gave the Kung Fu large underarm zippered vents, so you can get a rush of fresh air when you need it. Instead of a bulky powder skirt, three webbing strips attach to your pants’ belt loops, creating a jacket-to-pant connection that blocks incoming snow. This hooded softshell’s bonded fleece lining adds welcome warmth and moisture-wicking power for those cold aerobic days in the backcountry.
Bottom Line: Fear is the only darkness.

| FlyLow is the Ultimate for AT / Backcountry 08-15-09 |

| While backcountry skiing in Chile, the (American) guide I hired was wearing FlyLow from head to toe. Having never heard of FlyLow (despite being a gear freak), I was curious and asked him about the brand. He had nothing but glowing things to say about it, and demonstrated some of FlyLow's unique features (such as pants with flow-through leg ventilation for bleeding off heat when skinning). During the days we skinned together, my clothing was never quite vented/sealed comfortably, his was always perfect for whatever situation we were in.
His FlyLow stuff was already almost two seasons old, yet had no frays, cuts, or repairs.
When I got back to the States I got on FlyLow's web site and ordered one of everything they make.
FlyLow is the opposite of most ski brands - no hype, just thoughtful design. By AT skiers, for AT skiers. |

| MSRP $230?? I hope nobody actually paid that much for it..
I got it off steepandcheap for around $105 and that was maybe paying too much.
-Jacket made in China.
-There are holes in the inside of the pockets- I had a mint or something small in my pocket one day, and the next I found it stuck somewhere in between the layers of fabric of the jacket itself.
-Zipper strings feel / look cheap.
Other than that its cool; its lightweight, has good vents, and is pretty comfortable.
Jacket runs pretty slim too. |

| Looks great and functions very well. I was never too warm or cold. It's an excellent soft shell and can be used for more than just skiing.
Just be careful of the front pocket. |
