Fischer made the Watea 101 Alpine Ski big mountain senders who ski fast, shred steeps, stomp big hits, and afraid to ride switch. Fischer left the Watea’s popular shape unchanged and added a new I-beam carbon-reinforced wood core to increase the ski’s stiffness and reduces its weight. The Dual-titanal layer construction give the Watea a burly flex ideal for bigger skiers or the hardest of pow chargers. The 192cm length and 101mm waist gives you a massive platform for stomping drops, strait-lining chutes, and surfing in the deep. The raised mini-swallowtail lets you smear powder turns, ride switch, and provides a slot for secure skin attachment when touring.
Bottom Line: The Watea 101 is big, bad, burly, and ready for the deep, in-bounds or in the backcountry.
the watea 101 rips everywhere! I figured it would float well in the deep given its 101 waist...but this ski is a blast even when its not deep, holds really well on hard snow and has a great flex...not so stiff that you've gotta be charging all the time, but rugged enough to take everything my 6'1 and 200lbs could throw at it...and pretty light for a ski this big. Unbelievable how versatile this ski is!
Light, torsionally stiff but has plenty of energy, great turnshape for a 101 waist. super versatile! great everyday western ski.

The Fischer Watea 101 is a great big mountain ski and more. Works great when it is steep and deep or on the groom.Stable at speed great edge grip lays down railroad tracks.Floats in the powder, very positive on the steep. The perfect shape light and play full. Wide enough under foot but not too wide. The ski fits everwhere.Fischer has done ot again.
