Description of Ex Officio Micro-Bond Wool Jacket - Men's: |
 |
The Ex Officio Men’s Micro-Bond Wool Jacket gives you the perfect combination of performance and style for backpacking, travel, or just kicking it around town. This fleece-lined wool jacket insulates and dries quickly, and it features two large interior drop pockets for documents, tickets or your passport. Ex Officio moved the shoulder seams forward for wearing with a pack, and two security-zip chest pockets keep your keys and cash where you want them.
Bottom Line: An all purpose wool jacket with comfort and style.

| Talk about Compliments... 11-01-09 |

| Was slightly skeptical buying this jacket with no reviews, but after IM'ing a Backcountry sales associate, he convinced me it was "stylin'" & I had nothing to lose with one of the best return/exchange policies around. Got it a few days later & let me tell you...never have I received so many compliments for an article of clothing before. I have a slim/athletic build & bought the medium. I usually wear an average t-shirt with a light sweater or shirt & tie underneath. I prefer a slimmer fit, but am still extremely happy. I chose "Breen" - think of it as a modern twist on Army fatigue green with a vertical Herringbone-style pattern. The associate was correct using "stylin'" as his description. From the first, I knew this was extremely well-constructed from the classic military-collar to the visible seams. You simply touch it & you know. The shoulder seams are moved slightly forward so my messenger bag sits comfortably on my shoulder, not on a bulging, uncomfortable seam. The chest pockets are extremely handy & the brass zippers are hidden by ingenious "flaps" that add to the styling. Both hand pockets are generous & have the identical insulating fabric as the entire jacket on the front side keeping cold winds from penetrating. Two extra inside pockets share the same "pouch", but remain separate. On the lower backside, there's just enough extra "jacket" to keep you covered when bending, sitting or stretching. I walk roughly a mile from my bus stop to work everyday, through the downtown skyscrapers of Seattle, & wanted a jacket that would significantly reduce the windchill effect - this jacket out-does itself. When it gets wet, your warmth is not sacrificed & dries extremely quickly. It's made of wool, polyester & nylon. It looks like wool & feels like wool while the nylon gives it just a slight "stretch". The Care Label says: Dry clean or machine wash cold, gentle cycle, no bleach, line dry, do not iron." The ONLY thing I've noticed since I've been wearing it for about 1 month, is slight "piling" where my messenger bag strap rubs, but it's so minor I don't consider it an issue.
If you're craving warmth, comfort, style, a complement to your wardrobe as well as compliments from your friends, I know a little secret - well...not anymore. |
