Description of Driza-Bone Uni Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's:
The Uni Shirt is merino wool. Australian merino wool. And it just so happens that Driza-Bone is an Australian company that has been making performance outwear since 1898. That means your Uni Shirt does all the fabulous stuff wool shirts do (regulate your temperature, block stinky odor, feel ridiculously soft) and this shirt comes from a well-established home Down Under.
I am a complete Icebreaker junkie (stylish, comfy, effective, long enough for my height...) but I really like this shirt. Unlike other people, I really don't care for Smartwool (mine have pilled) or Ibex (sloppy fit). The Driza-Bone fabric is very soft and a good weight. I like the fit; it's shapely without being so formfitting that I'd hesitate to wear it solo around town. The ecru is a bit see through but that's common with lighter colors. I haven't actually worn it yet but I love it out of the box. I assume it would function like other merino.
Nice and soft....softer than Icebreaker for sure. I wore one today in 75 degree weather and felt comfortable. I could see wearing this on really hot, humid days, too.
If you're in between sizes, I suggest ordering up unless you like a tight fit. My measurements fall exactly in between small and medium, and medium provides a form-fitting, but not too tight fit that shows off my figure without looking like I shrunk my shirt. A small would have been too clingy.
I hope to stock up in more colors!
I love these shirts. They are so soft, keep you either warm or cool as needed and are so easy to care for. I just hang them to dry and they dry wrinkle free. Love'em! I highly recommend them for traveling.
