Description of Lange Inferno Ski Boot - Men's: |
 |
Months of genetic research at the Lange laboratory have rewarded us with the Inferno, a very slightly tranquilized sibling of the belligerent Banshee Pro freeride boot. To create it, Lange started with the same World-Cup-bred 98-millimeter lower found in the Banshee, re-cast the upper cuff in a marginally more forgiving material, and installed a gel insert in the tongue liner—all with the aim of putting grins back on the grimacing faces of freestyle competitors and lighter expert skiers. We’re not saying this is a plush, luxury sedan of a boot—at a 115 flex index, the Inferno is far from soft—but those subtle tweaks are enough to transform the Inferno from a take-no-prisoners punisher into a boot that you can ride from first chair to last, on groomers, off cliffs, in powder, bumps, park and pipe without feeling like you broke both your shins in the process.
Bottom Line: Lange’s gift to the freestyle (and lightweight expert) scene.

| I have a relatively narrow foot, especially around my ankle, but a high arch - and these boots seem to fit quite well (no heel slop, which is my usual problem in ski boots). The flex doesn't seem all that stiff, but haven't tested these in the cold yet. The boot lower seems quite well shaped, following the foot curvature better than some other boots i have tried on. I am not too sure about liner, seems a bit flimsy. Otherwise, great boot. I am shoe size 10 and mondo 27 seems to fit right. |
