Description of Lange Fluid 80 FR Ski Boot - Men's:
You’re the type of skier that scoffs at racers with their spandex and bent poles, so buckle up the Lange Men’s Fluid 80 FR Ski Boot and head into the trees. This Lange boot includes all the technical features, comfort, and performance of a Fluid boot, but has a wicked freeride attitude. Offset hinge points ensure fluid movement in any type of turn, and features a super-comfy 3DL-molded liner with a neoprene toebox. Thanks to a bi-injected shell that allows for easy entry and exit, this Lange freeride boot delivers peak performance and comfort all day long.
I've always skied on race-flex boots, but I thought I'd try the opposite end of the spectrum, and at this price why not. The 28.5 size is a perfect match of my previous Salomon boot which is a 110 flex.
First impression was WOW, perfect fit unbuckled, and sleek looking in orange and white. Buckled down and walked around, hopped around and then buckled down some more. The cuff can take alot of adjustment to stiffen it up nicely.
I'll play with the cant later, at least the manual says there is a cant, but the alignment seems to be dead on.
Should be interesting to see how these perform, I'll update with a performance post.
Tried different brands and sizes, picked up this ones after trying them @ a local store, they were my second try and have been happy with them, have used them a couple of times, they are comfortable and they look nice!
the picture of this model is the one from last year not the new one
I picked these up as a shot in the dark. I got lucky. I wear a 11.5 At times the toe box feels pretty lose but that is better than my last boot (technica ti-4 -->which i LOVED). I like that the fr-80 is very basic with no extra tweak settings -> its a 4 buckle boot with a little adjustment in the flex. I got them this year and have had about 12 days on them...no complaints. I scored them on tramdock which helped out alot but would pay 3 bills for this boot. Its solid and lets you shred but doesn't feel like you just got your feet plastered with concrete. I would buy another pair.
